Triangular Side Table – Spalted Beech

Description

Spalted beech side table with solid ash legs. This saddle shaped table is approximately 33cm wide, 35cm deep and stands 50cm high.

The tables in the photos have now sold but I can make more to order, including bespoke sizes. Timescale is typically 4 weeks but please get in touch to confirm before placing an order.

The solid, spalted beech tabletop is supported on three tapered ash legs. Spalting is the attractive swirling pattern of dark and light areas within the triangular beech top. The triangular tabletop is an isosceles rather than equilateral triangle (two rather than three equal sides).

Tenons at the top of each leg are attached via mortices through the tabletop and wedged in place with oak wedges. These legs taper again towards the base of each leg to create the elegant appearance.

The table is finely sanded and finished with matt, hard wax.

Every item has a maker’s mark and unique tally style number on the base. The maker’s mark is an abstract axe approximately 2cm long.
