Zed Side Table – Oak

“Z” shaped, solid oak, side table, approximately 45cm long, 24cm wide and 45cm high.

This simple oak table works perfectly as both side and besdside table. The “Z” shaped oak table top  is supported on simple, oak legs which subtly taper as they touch the floor. The legs and frame are all jointed with traditional mortice and tenons, adding robustness. The central tie is connected with a rounded through tenon, wedged with ash.

The table in the photos has now sold but I can make more to order, including bespoke sizes. Timescale is typically 4 weeks but please get in touch to confirm before placing an order.

The generous table top thickness allows sufficient depth for the tenons at the top of each leg to be housed without the need for additional framing. This, together with the flush alignment of legs and table edges, gives the piece a simple contemporary appearance.

The “Z” shaped oak top is milled from a fallen branch and air dried for several years. The curl and swirl of the woodgrain adds interest to the simple table design.

The table has been finely sanded and finished with matt, hard wax.

Every item has a makers mark and unique tally style number on the base. The makers mark is an abstract axe approximately 2cm long.
