Live Edge Side Table – Ash

Live edge side table in solid ash, approximately 115cm long, 30cm wide and 65cm high. The tabletop width is approximate as some variation is inevitable due to the natural shape.

The table in the photos has now sold but I can make more to order, including bespoke sizes. Timescale is typically 4 weeks but please get in touch to confirm before placing an order.

Milled as ‘through cut’ allowing the live edges to be retained on both sides of the tabletop. The live edge tabletop is supported on simple, elegant, tapered legs and assembled using traditional hand cut joints. These joints can be expressed as per the photos (wedged / pinned tenons and dovetail halving joints) or concealed mortice and tenon joints.

Through tenons at the top of each leg are diagonally wedged with oak to contrast with ash tabletop. Similarly, the through tenons towards the base of each leg are pinned with a small, purpose made, ash dowel. A dovetail halving joint at each end of the central stretcher prevents the pairs of legs spreading.

The table has been finely sanded and finished with matt, hard wax.

Every item has a makers mark and unique tally style number on the base. The makers mark is an abstract axe approximately 2cm long.
